Hope’s compassionate counselors can help you cope with grief and loss through individual sessions, support groups, and special opportunities. In all cases, we maintain the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality. With generous community support, we’re able to provide counseling at no charge to people of all ages in southwest Florida.
Adult Grief Support Groups
Hope provides adult grief support groups, led by professional counselors, for those who have experienced the loss of a loved one. Support groups will not meet on major holidays, and schedules are subject to change. You must speak with a Hope bereavement counselor before attending your first group. Call 239-482-4673 or 800-835-1673 to connect with the counselor in your area.
Children’s Grief Counseling
We support children who are coping with complex emotions after the loss of a loved one. In a relaxed, often play-filled setting, children are encouraged to share their feelings. Our supportive counselors provide therapy within a safe psychological distance from their problems to allow for gentle healing – sessions are designed to reflect each child’s cognitive abilities and unique communication style. With our help, children will be able to express their thoughts, feelings, and emotions in an age-appropriate way.
Hope periodically offers “Family Nights” – designed with interactive grief activities that help both adults and children. Please ask a Hope bereavement counselor about upcoming opportunities.
Rainbow Trails Camp
Hope’s Rainbow Trails bereavement camp is a weekend experience designed for children ages 6-17 who have lost a loved one. For over 30 years, Rainbow Trails has helped heal the hearts of children throughout southwest Florida. Learn more about this special opportunity.

Healing Survivors of Suicide
Hope helps people who have lost a loved one through suicide, recognizing that this experience is different from losing someone through other causes. As a survivor of suicide, you may feel deep feelings of abandonment or guilt as well as intense anger or sadness. Survivors of suicide need a safe place to explore these feelings and to raise questions and doubts. Some may attend this support group on the day of the funeral. Others come a few months later; some, a few years later. There is no timetable for grief, and we welcome you at any time.
