Final artwork
Carmen was an artist whose creative voice often included her passion for cats. Her illness eventually made it impossible for her to create paintings in the same capacity she did before.
Fortunately, Carmen was able to work closely with Hope’s art therapist on a final project filled with meaning. She painted a plush objected modeled on her beloved BooBoo.
Her husband, Dan, shared, “She loved creating and having that option to the very end, with an art therapist who knew how to support a dying patient. It was invaluable. It made her ending so beautiful – to be able to finish an art piece – the day before she died.”
