Samira K. Beckwith, president and CEO of Hope Healthcare, has been elected to serve on the board of directors of National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization. Beckwith also currently serves on the board of directors for the NHPCO Hospice Action Network.Beckwith has previously served as a NHPCO board officer in the positions of Chair and Treasurer, as well as Chair of the board of directors for the National Hospice Foundation.
NHPCO is the largest membership organization representing hospice and palliative care programs and professionals in the U.S. The organization is committed to improving end-of-life care and expanding access to hospice care with the goal of profoundly enhancing the quality of life for people dying in America and their loved ones.
“Serving in a leadership position helps ensure that I can elevate hospice and palliative care for Southwest Floridians,” Beckwith said. “Being involved with organizations like NHPCO helps the development of partnerships and opportunities of the evolving model of health care that directly affects people. It’s all about helping to improve quality of life and access to care for those in need.”
In addition to positions with other national and statewide boards, Beckwith served as a state delegate to The White House Conference on Aging, was a Governor’s appointee to the Long-Term Care Policy Advisory Council, and is the founding president of the Florida PACE Association.
