Ride 4 Hope, a bicycling event that supports Hope HealthCare Services, is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 21 in Bonita Springs. The ride begins at Joanne’s House at Hope Hospice, located at 27200 Imperial Parkway, with registration at 7 a.m. The 50-mile ride departs at 8 a.m. while the 25-mile ride departs at 8:30 a.m.
The annual event was established to honor the memory of loved ones, raise awareness and support those with complex needs related to life-changing illness.
Every dollar raised at Ride 4 Hope benefits Hope’s mission of providing exceptional care and support to individuals and their families as they fulfill life’s journey.
Bill Curtis, a longtime Hope volunteer, rides his age in miles each year. Several years ago, he asked friends and family to support him by riding along or donating to his favorite charity – and the idea for Ride 4 Hope was born.
“Bill is an inspiration to the Southwest Florida community,” said Samira K. Beckwith, president and CEO of Hope HealthCare Services. “The ride takes place just before November’s National Hospice Month and provides a great way to remember a loved one. Ride 4 Hope reminds us that the care we provide helps people live life as fully as possible, offers dignity to every individual, and surrounds families with love.”
The $40 rider entry donation includes a Ride 4 Hope T-shirt, gift bag and free safety check courtesy of EA Bicycles during the week of Oct. 11.
Ride 4 Hope event sponsors include EA Bicycles, Walgreens and Spiro & Associates, as well as shirt sponsors Service Painting of Florida and CLA Landscaping.
