Hope HealthCare Services President and CEO Samira K. Beckwith will be a guest on “The Dr. Melanie Show,” a web-based talk radio program with 2.5 million listeners worldwide. Beckwith will address the roles of social workers in caring for people with serious and advanced illness.
Beckwith received an undergraduate and Masters Degree in Social Work from The Ohio State University. She is a Licensed Certified Social Worker and an inductee in The Ohio State University College of Social Work Hall of Fame. She has also been honored by the National Association of Social Workers.
The Dr. Melanie Show, hosted by Dr. Melanie Barton, focuses on education and resources related to health and wellness. In observance of National Social Work Month in March, Beckwith and Dr. Melanie will discuss social work issues including care management, managing the activities of daily living; in-home safety; encouraging socialization; and caregiver support.
The program will originally be aired on March 22 at 1 pm on the VoiceAmerica Health and Wellness Channel. It will be archived on the site for future access.
